Hyuuga Training Grounds.

This is where the Hyuuga train. It can be spars or practicing and learning techniques. It can be anything really. The Hyuuga training grounds is made up of dummies in a shed that you can practice the gentle fist technique on. And full of wide open space for the projection of a Bykaugan technique. The 360 vision comes in handy sometimes and for that you need a wide area to practice.

My father was waiting impatiently for me as I got all of my stuff gathered and ran out to the training fields. My panting was slight as I had arrived and put my hands on my knees, doubling over slightly. He looked at me with harsh blank eyes. The Hyuuga eyes, Byakugan. Yes this was our bloodline, the mark of the Hyuuga. And even though they were blank and seemed emotionless he always had emotion in his. Emotions of rage and frustration, anger and sometimes sadness. Very often did I see happiness when we were relaxing and enjoying ourselves, but with training it was always this look.

"Why are you so late Aka-san? I told you to get here 20 minutes ago, why did you keep me waiting?" He crossed his arms and tapped his foot. These two signs definitely showing anger. I walked over to him meekly and bowed my head first and then my body to him. I just kind of spoke from shyness within my attitudes, I didn't even notice. I think he was ashamed to have me as his daughter. He, such a great and mighty Hyuuga, the leader of the main branch. And then his flimsy daughter, myself. I was no good at being a ninja, no good at anything so it seemed. But being shy.

"I-I'm sorry, f-father. I must have gotten caught up in the p-prayers I was reciting."

My father then would walk to the shed in which all of the props for training were kept. Since I was still the rank of an Academy student technically he was upping my physical strength first before anything else. He knew of the effects it could have on me if I used my Byakugan before my body could handle it. He knew of the toll it would take on my body if I tried any major or even minor jutsu of the Hyuuga styles and techniques again before I was ready. He then walked back over to where he stood before, and set up a dummy where he stood. He glared at me and sighed with that same parental disappointing sigh whenever they were let down.

"Well don't let it happen again. Honestly, you're the weakest of the clan, Akahana. You need to get stronger. I am telling you this because you are now, 11 years old, soon to be 12, and your strength can still be classified as an Academy student's levelly speaking. I need you to get stronger, you are bringing dishonor and shame to our clan. That is why it is my job to strengthen you so, and so that I will be proud to have you as a daughter? Understand?" I could only nod. His words did hit home, and I was about ready to cry, but I couldn't shed a tear in front of my father. No I just couldn't. According to him there is no crying in training, no pain no gain. You are to hide your emotions as a ninja and never to show them, only when the time deems right you should. Keep composed because fighting with a clouded mind and a clouded soul closes your chakra reserves further, and causes you to become weak. He was so wise and so strong, and I was a menace to this clan. I should just run away...

"I-I'm sorry to have a failed you father. I will try harder this time, and I will not let you down. I-I promise!" I tried to sound confident, and I did not know if he bought it or not. I was never confident with these sorts of things. I needed to be for my father.

"Good, good. Now get up! Show me what you've got. I want you to stand up and hit this dummy as hard as you can. Fists first." I nodded and got up and started to hit the dummy with my closed fists. I concentrated on my strength and released it upon the dummy standing in front of me. My father watched me with intense eyes and I had a sweat drop run down my forehead. The look in his eyes was making me nervous but I couldn't let that show. I kept punching it and punching it until he would call time.

"Good, good. You're doing well today Aka-san. Exert more force, put more power behind your punches!" My father was screaming loudly at me, and I was beginning to get frightened. The tone of his voice sounded as though he were of the evil sound, which he wasn't. I knew though that if I didn't keep this up and work diligently he'd beat me to shreds. So I kept punching and with the punches, each one being stronger. I guess this was his way of toning my muscles and body for the upcoming training ahead. He was right, my strength was pitiful.

"R-right!" I said and then out of the peripheral vision of my eye I saw a figure enter the training grounds. It was a girl from what I knew, and she smelled of a shinobi. A strong one, maybe of Kage rank. I kept right on punching to see if my father would say something about the strange feeling, but he knew of my friend Anri, and so he just welcomed her in silently. He respected her and saw her as a good role model for me to have since she was so strong and I needed to get stronger. Such a difference in strength I wonder how we came to be such good friends.

"Aka-san, stop for a few. You have a visitor."

Makutsata, my father could only nod back and smile a patient smile. He respected her quite a lot. Then the thought hit me, but I'm sure my father would be close by anyway despite what the idea was. And even though he was bus dealing with papers and requests and complaints from the Hyuuga members of the clan, since he was the head of the Main Branch, he still found time to train me. He must really want me to get stronger.. am I really that pitiful? Q.Q

"O-oh hi Anri-chan~!" I smiled widely and was excited to see her. When she made her comment, I could only nod and blush a little at the working diligently. At least she saw the strong side in me, I'd hoped. "S-so what brought you b-by?" I asked still being gentle and kind with my words. I was sure I was being too gentle which kind of irritated my father. Then I turned to my father and bowed my head.

"F-Father would it be alright if A-Anri could t-train me?" I bowed my head and asked for it, hoping he would approve. He crossed his arms and looked down in a proud stance before closing his eyes and then opening them with a cold glare. I could tell he didn't like the idea from the stare. Nonetheless though, he agreed to it. He nodded coldly and left, on his way back to our residence. Then my glance turned to Anri again and I smiled happily.

A simple nod sufficed for the answer as I had a light blush on my face. I seemed happy, and smiling more than ever now. My friend was training me, the Kage, such a strong ninja. I am a novice, I am nothing compared to that strength. Nothing to my father. Well hopefully besides Anri, I'll be able to meet many more ninja in which appreciate me for who I am. I want them to show me kindness as I show them, and not care how strong or weak I am. In their eyes I just want to make a friend, as well as I see the world with mine. Sigh.

"Y-Yes, Anri-chan. Mmm, later maybe we can go for ramen in the village~?" My voice was rather high pitched, but then again I was young. Still, high pitched. Anyway I asked this rather cutely and I hoped she would say yes. My father always knew how to work me up to an appetite, though when I actually did eat it wasn't much. I wonder what kind of training Anri has in mind for me.

"Rrrr-right~!" I nodded and suddenly got a cute determined look upon my face. I looked to her and wondered what she wanted to train me with. Should she up my physical strength? Or did she want me to use my Byakugan eyes? That could be risky, but I hope I get to use them soon!

I got ready for anything she could throw at me. And she said she was buying the ramen, that made me all the more determined. I smiled and then got back to seriousness, or at least tried. Some giggles couldn't help but escape from me, as I waited for her first commands as my sensei for the day. ^^

I nodded and got into a left fighting stance. Lefty was always my better side which is why I screwed up so much with my father. He always had me fight righty because he figured all Hyuugas might be that way. He was a right-side fighter, so was my mother, and basically everyone else in the Hyuuga clan I knew, that my family knew. It was a secret of my own and well kept, but I was beginning to think I was the only lefty fighter in the clan.

It matters not. I threw powerful punches at her. My physical strength was nothing compared to hers, but I was growing pretty fast. I was small in stature but had a big determination and a big heart to match that determination. I closed my eyes to concentrate and as I started to move faster, I shifted my body to a center position. That way I could throw both left-handed and right-handed punches. I was doing so well until I missed her hand on a right punch. As my fist swung into the air, my eyes opened abruptly and I began to lose balance and fall. I had fallen to the ground.

I sat there rubbing my head with one eye closed looking up at Anri. "Ouch, t-that hurt." No laughter was heard at first but a smile graced my lips. Oh! I was never going to get any better if I didn't improve now. Why can't I be like the other Hyuugas, fast and strong and great learners. All I am is a clumsy good-for-nothing, novice. v.v

As I am helped up I can only smile just as warmly as she has. I got up and opened the other one of my eyes that was wincing. I giggled as I got up now letting her hear the childlike laughter from my lips.

"I-I'm sorry, Anri-chan. I.. will try harder this time~. I promise i-it. I just got a little clumsy t-that's all." I spoke with that same shyness that I always had in my voice. Even then I couldn't look her in the eyes, I was too afraid to. I stared at the ground as if finding something interesting and then took a deep breath, getting back into stance. I put my fists in the Hyuuga style way subconsciously but then I noticed and I dropped my hands sighing. My fists clenched once more, not tightly but loosely and I began to punch more.

'I won't.. I won't let Anri-chan d-down. I won't let you down Father. I won't let the Hyuuga clan down~! I p-pray to you spirits, g-give me strength...'

Thinking this as I gave out more punches, suddenly, unknowingly to me at first, my prayers would be answered.

I am too focused though in my mind was happiness. She really does have faith in me! I couldn't believe it, was I actually becoming a strong ninja. My father was eavesdropping on us from afar. And even though he was taking care of Hyuuga work he couldn't help but astray from it to peek on how I was doing. When he looked his eyes caught a surprise to how well I was forming the punches. He was already beginning to see slight progress and much more agility as well as strength. This was essential of course for Byakugan techniques. He saw the capability of my swifts movements. Watching my feet as well as my fists semi forming into Hyuuga Style, he inwardly smiled and walked back to attend to his duties in our residence, no longer spying on me and Anri.

"I.. I think I'm getting the h-hang of t-this~! A-Anri-chan, y-you're a good s-sensei." I was panting now and decided to take a little break for a minute. Our gazes met and a blush appeared upon my face as I looked down, twiddling with my thumbs. I thought a minute. I had felt this power just emerging deep inside. A power that didn't even feel like me. And I wondered what it was. Hm, maybe it was just the adrenaline. I wondered if I would ever get to use my Byakugan.. then again, I might just injure myself with it as well..

The sun would have started setting in the half night, half day sky. I looked at it now just noticing its rare beauty. The sky was painted all different assortments of colors. There was yellow mixed with red, and blue, and the colors blended as well to make shades of purple. My eyes widened at that fact and I smiled inwardly. As I was suddenly patted on the head by Anri I looked up at her, and nodded hearing my stomach growl as well. I was getting hungry. I nodded to going to get something to eat, ramen sounded yummy right about now.

"mm~ Y-yes, I would like very much to get something to eat. I-I am p-pretty hungry too." A small giggle escaped from my lips again as I put my finger to my lips in a shy like manner. I looked her in the eyes and then down to the ground as if finding something interesting on it again. I blinked and wondered what that power surge in me was. Once again I shrugged it off and then decided to get going with Anri. Off to Ramen~! ^^

I was suddenly warped here by my good friend and trusted shinobi, Kai. We were at the Hyuuga training grounds. It was clear that if I was to become stronger then I would have to train. But judging by how long I've gone and how my dad is, I would be in deep trouble...

NPC'ing as Makutsata Hyuuga

Makutsata Suddenly hears a sound nearby in the training grounds. Activating his byakugan he sees a man with his daughter and immediately becomes enraged, rushing over into the area where his daughter was.

"Where were you and who was that man?" he yelled out in a harsh voice. "More importantly you seem different what did that man do to you?" Makutsata asked after noticing a difference in her chakra flow.

I sensed my father approaching but there was nowhere to hide or to go. It was time to come out and face the music, as they say. However when he reached us, his voice was harsh and loud which made me wince a little from the tone of it. He did seemed angry with me, and this time I couldn't be fearful. I had to tell him.. I had to. Be brave Akahana..

"W-well you see father, this m-man, is my friend and h-he did nothing to me. N-nothing. He wouldn't h-harm me. I only a-advanced my skills to become a g-genin and became s-stronger. However, I-I did go on a hunting mission w-with my f-friend Kyo-kun. H-he sealed this b-beast inside of m-me. H-he's helping in g-giving me p-power.. please don't be a-angry with me!"

The cold stare in his eyes made me crack and crumble. It was not possible to be brave in the face of my father, I'll admit, he was dangerous. And with the way he treated me I did not wish to know what he could do to me if I wasn't completely honest with him, and even though I was, he would still be furious. I suppose it's his right, my father he is..

After listening to his daughters reasoning, Makutsata's calmed down a bit even though he was still upset. Turning to look at the man he spoke once more "Thank you for taking care of my daughter but i will take it from here" he said while signaling the man to leave.

After the man left Makutsata turned back to his daughter and spoke in a chillin tone. "Why didn't you come see me about going on this mission? You could have been hurt and you had me worried sick about you." As he spoke a little bit of concern could be heard in his voice.

"Now that you are back, i guess it would only be fitting that you show me what new abilities you have learned. Don't you think?"
